 Grace Ohayon, MHC-LP

Grace Ohayon is a mental health counselor who helps young adults and adults move through anxiety, depression, and the pressure of big transitions in New York and New Jersey, in person and by telehealth.

Grace supports people in the middle of change, especially young adults finding their footing as they step into adult life. With three and a half years of clinical experience, she works with adolescents and adults on the anxiety, self-doubt, and relationship questions that tend to surface at those turning points.

The clients Grace supports

Grace works well with clients managing anxiety, depression, career pressure, and family or relationship strain. She has a real feel for academic stress and the anxiety that builds during a demanding program, along with the professional and personal goals that come with early adulthood.

Grace’s counseling style

Client-centered, warm, and free of judgment, Grace helps people notice their own strengths and take the next step forward. She draws on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy, and meets clients where they are rather than where a manual says they should be.

Starting therapy with Grace

Grace sees therapy as a collaboration built on trust and respect. Her aim is a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves and exploring what they feel without worrying about being judged.

In Grace’s words

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel hard, and that is completely normal. You do not have to face your challenges alone. Together we can understand what is getting in the way and build healthy coping strategies in a warm, safe space.

Grace earned her MS in clinical mental health counseling from Bellevue University and her BS in psychology from Excelsior University. She holds a limited permit as a mental health counselor in New York (MHC-LP) and a license as an associate counselor in New Jersey (LAC). She sees clients in English.
