Lewis Sepulveda, MHC-LP
Lewis Sepulveda is a mental health counselor who offers individual therapy for adolescents and adults working through anxiety, depression, grief, identity, and relationship concerns, with affirming care for LGBTQ+ clients, in New York, in person and by telehealth.
Finding the right person to talk to is hard, and it is harder when part of what you are working through is who you are. Lewis Sepulveda builds his practice around that. He works with adolescents, young adults, and adults, and he is especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ clients, including people of color navigating the intersection of culture, race, and sexual orientation.
Who Lewis works with
Clients come to Lewis with anxiety, depression, grief, and the kind of adjustment struggles that show up during big life changes. He supports people through identity and sexuality questions, and through relationship concerns of all kinds, romantic and familial. His focus is individual therapy, and he works to make the room feel safe for the parts of a story that are hardest to say out loud.
How Lewis approaches therapy
His style is warm, affirming, and collaborative, and it starts from a simple idea: you are the boss of your own therapy. He works from a person-centered, strengths-based foundation and brings in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care as they fit. Rather than one approach for everyone, he shapes the work around what you actually need.
What working together looks like
Expect a real conversation, not a script. Lewis is direct about what he offers: partnership and a space to talk honestly about what matters to you. As a member of the Latin and LGBTQ+ communities himself, he brings cultural understanding that lets clients feel heard, respected, and in charge of where the work goes.
A note from Lewis
You’re in the driver’s seat. We will move at your pace, talk about what you feel comfortable talking about, and work toward what helps you. No judgments, no worries. Let’s just talk.
