Stephanie Grant-Prestia, LMHC Clinical Supervisor

Receive support to overcome the issues you face.

I am a dedicated Mental Health Counselor who specializes in treating individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders and substance and gambling use issues. I earned my master’s degree in mental health counseling from the City University of New York’s Hunter College and hold a bachelor’s degree in sociology, focusing on social work, from Saint Francis College. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) licensed in New York. I also serve as a Clinical Supervisor at You Can Do It, PLLC, providing guidance and oversight to pre-licensed clinicians as part of my commitment to the growth of the field.

I employ a person-centered and integrative approach to therapy, drawing from various therapeutic modalities to best suit my client’s needs.

Inspired by Dr. Irvin Yalom’s philosophy that “the gift of therapy is a unique one – the gift of encountering another at the deepest level with the promise of full acceptance and understanding,” I am committed to creating a compassionate environment where patients feel safe to explore their challenges and aspirations.

I also conduct pre-surgical psychological evaluations.

In addition to therapy, my clinical work includes pre-surgical psychological evaluations for individuals preparing for certain medical procedures. I conduct evaluations for:

  • Bariatric surgery
  • Spinal cord stimulator (SCS) implantation
  • Chronic pain management interventions

The emphasis is on your personal needs.

By focusing on each client’s therapeutic journey, I tailor my sessions to address their needs and goals, ensuring a personalized experience fostering growth and healing.

My areas of expertise include:

  • Psychotherapy
  • Depression
  • Cognitive Therapy
  • Adult Psychotherapy
  • Family Issues, Anxiety Disorders
  • Substance and Gambling Use
  • Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders

I am passionate about supporting my clients as they work toward their goals and enhance their overall well-being. I look forward to supporting you as you work toward recovery and lasting personal growth.
